Annak Toldorath

Are you of noble birth or in a tenant family? What is your relationship to your Clan's leadership?

I am of noble birth, but relatively low-ranking; noble enough to experiences the privileges of nobility, but too common to get any of the cushy jobs.

Why did the Clan decide to send you in particular on this mission, knowing you might well not return? Does your Clan have another task or agenda for you besides the group goal?

I was chosen due to a combination of factors; my level of nobility means I'm important enough that I'm a prestigious addition, but not so important it hurts them to lose me; additionally, my eidolon makes me somewhat uncomfortable to be around, worrisome in general, and also pushes me to want the posting due to its drive to wage war against the Daelkyr.

Why did you want to go on this mission? Do you have another agenda in coming, or is there something back in the Holds driving you forward?

As stated, ever since bonding to Turgut, my Dhakaani phantom eidolon, I have been driven more and more to fight against the scourge of the Daelkyr, and this posting was a way to get me on the front lines.

What was your profession before going on the expedition? Were you a miner or soldier? An artisan or Smith? A scholar or trader? A brewer or cook?

I was an archaeologist leading some of Toldorath's digs into Khyber, which is where I accidentally unearthed and bonded to my eidolon.

How well-traveled are you? Have you ventured outside of the Mountainholds? Have you ventured into the Realm Below? What other places in Eberron have you experienced?

Mostly scholarly adventures into Khyber, though I studied for a few years at Morgrave in my youth.

What is your view on Symbionts? Do you share this viewpoint with your Clan? Do you have a Symbiont? If so, what does it whisper to you in the dark?

Because of Turgut, I hate them, do not trust them, and do not trust anyone who bears one. That said, I am capable of acknowledging that this disapproval is new since bonding with Turgut, and I can keep it in check if necessary.

Who do you know that has ventured in the Realm Below? Did they return? Do you know their fate?

I know several professors and fellow scholars who've ventured into Khyber, and not all of them returned. Such is the nature of our studies.

What is your favorite story to tell around the campfire?

My favorite stories tend to bore everyone else; they're basically history lectures about the ancient Dhakaani, with an emphasis on social science.

What is your most prized possession? How did you get it? What's the story behind it?

The ancient Dhakaani bracer that bound me to Turgut. I found it during an archaeological dig; it's in great condition, and I wear it into battle. It probably belonged to Turgut when he was alive, but we can't be sure.

What do you envision your primary role in combat to be? Your class would probably help you with this answer.

Twin tank, me and Turgut mixing it up in melee. We both have retaliatory attacks, so there's reason for enemies to focus us.

What skills can you bring to exploration and survival? Your Free Archetype will probably help you with this answer. Your expedition will probably need some way to get food, to translate inscriptions, to make allies, to dig and traverse obstacles, to repair and craft things, to gather materials, etc.

My archaeologist experience gives me some knowledge of ancient ruins that we're likely to travel through, as well as some capacity with disarming any traps that are still functioning.
